General Dentist

Career Vision Recruiters are seeking a motivated Associate General Dentist to join a thriving medical card dental practice in Wexford. This full or part-time opportunity offers the chance to work in a supportive environment with competitive compensation based on a percentage of chair revenue. Approximately 60% of the patient base are medical card patients, making this an excellent opportunity for a dentist experienced with, or interested in, GMS dentistry. If you are passionate about providing excellent patient care and looking for a rewarding role in a busy general dental practice, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Care: Provide high-quality dental services, ensuring a friendly and comfortable experience for all patients. Build lasting patient relationships and promote regular check-ups.
  • Dental Examinations: Conduct thorough dental assessments, identify issues, and develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Restorative Dentistry: Perform a range of restorative procedures such as fillings, crowns, bridges, and root canal treatments, improving both function and aesthetics.
  • Preventative Care: Promote preventive dentistry by educating patients on good oral hygiene practices, dietary impacts on dental health, and regular dental visits.
  • Routine Procedures: Carry out routine dental treatments, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments.
  • Extractions & Minor Surgery: Perform tooth extractions and other minor surgical procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Patient Records: Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, including treatment plans, medical histories, and follow-up appointments.
  • GMS Patient Care: Provide dental services to patients registered under the GMS (General Medical Services) system. With around 60% of the practice’s patients holding medical cards, the role requires registration with, or eligibility for registration with, the GMS scheme.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside a team of dental professionals, including hygienists, dental nurses, and practice management, to deliver coordinated care.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all clinical guidelines and maintain high standards in infection control and health and safety regulations.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Dentist with full registration and in good standing with the Irish Dental Council.
  • Registered with the GMS system or eligible for registration.
  • Experience in general dentistry within Ireland is highly desirable.
  • Strong skills in a variety of dental procedures, including restorative and preventive care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to delivering patient-focused care.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently in a busy practice and provide quality treatment within scheduled appointment times.
  • A team-oriented approach, working collaboratively with support staff and dental colleagues.

What We Offer:

  • Full/Part-Time Position: Enjoy a consistent, full or part-time schedule in a busy practice.
  • Competitive Earnings: Compensation is based on a percentage of chair revenue, offering significant earning potential.
  • Supportive Practice Environment: Work in a welcoming, collaborative setting with a dedicated team focused on delivering high-quality patient care.
  • Professional Growth: Opportunities for continued learning and professional development in general dentistry.
