Assistant Manager (Gastropub)

Career Vision Recruiters are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager to join the leadership team of a well-established gastropub in the heart of Dublin city. This venue is renowned for its vibrant food & beverage culture, bustling atmosphere, high-volume service, and outstanding guest experience.

This is a key management role, ideal for a motivated hospitality professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and can support day-to-day operations while upholding exceptional service standards and driving strong commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the General Manager in daily operational oversight across all departments
  • Lead, mentor, and develop front-of-house staff to deliver top-tier guest service
  • Manage customer service performance and ensure consistent quality across all shifts
  • Assist with staff scheduling, training, and performance feedback
  • Monitor standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance with policies and procedures
  • Work closely with kitchen and bar teams to maintain service flow and guest satisfaction
  • Contribute to planning and execution of events, promotions, and service improvements
  • Assist in managing budgets, labour costs, and stock control to achieve financial targets
  • Monitor daily/weekly sales performance and support initiatives to drive revenue growth
  • Maintain strong cost control across payroll, wastage, and purchasing
  • Support GP management and margin optimisation across food and beverage offerings

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous supervisory or assistant management experience in hospitality (pubs, restaurants, gastro venues)
  • Strong understanding of financials including labour management, stock control, cost of sales, and budget management
  • Commercially minded with the ability to analyse sales performance and drive profitability
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
  • Strong customer service focus and excellent communication skills
  • Flexible attitude with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and busy peak periods
  • Good understanding of food & beverage operations and quality standards
