Career Vision Recruiters are recruiting for an exciting position that has arisen for Group Reservations Manager in cork, with at least 2 years experience in a similar role in a 4* to 5* hotel. Where you will be reporting directly to Sales & Marketing Director.

 

Responsibilities:

To manage the day to day operation of the reservations office for the group with overall responsibility for accommodation rooms, spa & restaurant reservations and supporting the meetings & events department with enquiries & administration.

Responsible for the achievement of accommodation revenue targets and the hotel’s total revenue targets.

Responsible for the ensuring that departmental procedures and standards are adhered to and for the development and implementation of new procedures where appropriate and in agreement with the Marketing Director.

To manage the enquiry handling system for the group, from initial enquiry, to contracting and handover to operations prior to arrival.

Responsible for assessing new enquiries, preparing quotes and formal proposals and/or for agreeing rates to be quoted by individuals within the department.

Responsible for the tracking, the chase system and for the conversion of the quotes issued by the department.

Responsible for ensuring that all enquiries are responded professionally, using the departmental standards and within the departmental time standard so that sales are maximised.

To ensure that voice enquiries are efficiently handled to ensure maximum conversion via the voice channel.

To manage the team to ensure that all up-selling opportunities are exploited and that dining/spa bookings are chased & confirmed for accommodation guests.

To liaise with sales department regarding potential new business leads and to ensure that negotiated client agreements are delivered.

To produce the monthly departmental rota with sufficient staffing in line with business levels.

To agree departmental holidays for reservation staff in conjunction with reception & sales department managers to ensure there is sufficient cover for business levels.

To plan and arrange departmental training.

To maintain & develop management information systems.

Attend hotel training when required.

To ensure that all tasks on the reservations daily check list are completed by team members prior to the reservations department closing each day.

To take on projects as directed by the Sales Director.

 

Skills & Attributes Required

Proactive and driven with a desire to meet and exceed targets

2 Years previous reservations and/or yield management experience in the hotel sector

Outgoing personality with the ability to build strong relationships with direct reports/HODs/clients

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Excellent time management and organisation skills

High standard of customer care with good problems solving ability

Self-motivated with a desire to succeed in a challenging environment

Ability to work as part of a team and independently

Fluency in English is essential

Required to work flexible hours.
