Hotel Accounts Assistant

Career Vision Recruiters are delighted to invite applicants for the position of Accounts Assistant for a thriving Hotel in Dublin City. Hospitality experience a distinct advantage. This position may suit someone who is currently studying accountancy

 

MAIN DUTIES 

 

  • Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts including Profit and Loss account and Balance Sheet.
  • Ensuring all sales are recorded accurately and there is a robust system in place for highlighting issues, preparing daily sales KPI report for issuance to individual departments
  • Providing Daily, Weekly and Monthly Revenue analysis for review with Financial Controller and relevant departments in hotel
  • Control of the cash & banking function of the hotel through the maintenance of the daily income audit, monitoring of the cash handling procedures throughout the property and providing training where appropriate, managing petty cash & ordering and maintaining appropriate cash levels in the hotel.
  • Accounts Receivable – Ensure that the system of recording, invoicing and chasing of payments is done in an effective manner and that that the property’s debtors are tracked and monitored periodically.
  • Assist with ensuring that controls and procedures are monitored and fully adhered to.
  • Co-operate fully with the Financial Controller regarding any questions/queries he may have in relation to the above.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Financial Controller.

 

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO DO THE JOB

 

  • Accounting qualification is essential
  • At least 1-year previous experience in a similar role
  • Experience in a hotel or hospitality background would be a distinct advantage
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisational and communicational skills
