Hotel Deputy General Manager

Our client, a well-established hotel operation, is currently seeking an experienced and driven Deputy General Manager to support the overall running of the property. This is a key leadership role, working closely with the General Manager to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of all departments while delivering exceptional guest experiences and strong commercial results.

This position offers a balance of strategic involvement and hands-on operational leadership within a fast-paced hospitality environment.

The Role

  • Take responsibility for the daily management of all hotel departments
  • Collaborate with Heads of Department to enhance performance, efficiency, and service standards
  • Oversee the successful delivery of large-scale events and functions
  • Carry out regular operational reviews and implement continuous improvements
  • Participate in Duty Management as required
  • Provide guidance, coaching, and mentorship to departmental leaders
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management processes
  • Ensure adherence to company HR policies and best practices
  • Promote clear communication and collaboration across all teams
  • Assist in driving revenue growth and achieving profitability targets
  • Monitor labour costs, stock levels, and overall cost control measures
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
  • Encourage a proactive upselling culture across the business
  • Work alongside Sales & Marketing to identify and maximise revenue opportunities
  • Uphold high standards of guest care and service delivery
  • Monitor guest feedback and online reviews, responding where appropriate
  • Resolve guest issues promptly and professionally

About You

  • Proven experience in a senior management role within the hotel sector
  • Strong understanding of financial performance and commercial strategy
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable operating in a dynamic, high-volume environment
  • A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving ability
