Career Vision Recruiters are currently looking for a Nightclub Manager for a busy property in Galway City. We are looking for someone who is very up-to-date in the clubbing industry and have a really strong knowledge of social media and how to best use this to drive traffic into the club.

The main purpose of the job includes ensuring that:

  • The Club Bar, Floor, Cloakroom, Security & Box Office areas operate efficiently and effectively at all times.
  • Our customers are provided with the highest standards of service, quality and products.
  • Strategic, operational and financial plans and objectives for the club are agreed with the Managing Director, Group Financial Manager and Group Operations Manager. Delivery of these plans is monitored and communicated regularly
  • A competent, efficient and well-trained team is developed and nurtured to ensure that the club is represented in a professional manner at all time by all staff
  • Safety and well-being of customers is protected at all times and exposure to any liability is minimised

The Main Duties are as follows:

HR

  • To ensure that all aspects of HR are maintained within the club. This includes; training, hiring, reviews, maintaining staff files, interview process, contract renewals, induction, monthly meetings, employee of the month & disciplinary procedures. The Manager should also be informed of all current work legislation.
  • To develop all members of staff through the use of appraisals and ongoing training & development
  • To ensure that all staff adhere to General Conditions of Employment and Job Descriptions
  • To supervise all bar/floor/cloak room/box office & security staff by using a full hands-on approach during club opening hours. The Manager should also be able to work competently in all of these mentioned areas so as to have an in-depth knowledge
  • To ensure that a high level of customer care is reached at all times
  • To deal with all complaints in a courteous and efficient manner at all times

Management team:

  • To ensure that all Managers/Supervisors are given clear training and direction at all times. The Manager must ensure good communication between the team and develop a strong management team
  • A shift report book must be used
  • A weekly meeting must take place to ensure all aspects of the club are being maintained
  • All Managers and Supervisors should have their work checked and reviewed on a regular basis
  • All individual goals are reached but also to help Supervisors in their role where necessary

Operations:

  • Send your own roster through to the Managing Director and Group Operations Manager before the start of each week
  • To ensure that all areas of the Club are operational, clean and in good working order. All snags must be addressed to ensure smooth running of the club
  • To attend weekly meetings with Managing Director and Group Operations Manager to discuss upcoming events and any problems/issues from the previous week. All notes should be prepared in advance of this meeting
  • All directives given by the Managing Director & Group Operations Manager at the weekly meeting must be followed up in a thorough and efficient manner. Delegation of these duties are the sole responsibility of the Manager
  • Make sure exemptions have been applied for and are in-place for key days of the month
  • To ensure that all standards of service are maintained and improved in accordance with the trade requirements.
  • To ensure that the Manager Weekly document is completed in full by no later than Monday at 6pm.
  • To ensure that all administration is carried out effectively at all times. This includes office upkeep, computer maintenance, filing, wages & e mails. The office computer is for work use only and to be used for company purposes at all times.
  • A smart appearance is essential at all times. The Club should be represented in a professional manner at all times
  • To keep an accurate account of hours worked to ensure the club needs are being met
  • To develop all members of staff through the use of appraisals and ongoing training & development
  • To ensure that all staff adhere to General Conditions of Employment and Job Descriptions

Finance:

  • To ensure that all stock matters are monitored closely. Holding stock must be kept to a minimum
  • All targets must be attained
  • Give direction to all Supervisors to ensure the GP, waste and loss amounts are accounted for and are correct.
  • To ensure the correct correlation of all monies and floats
  • Ensure Timepoint is completed by Monday morning
  • All figures pertaining to the club must be forwarded onto the Group Management Team

H&S

  • To ensure that all security matters are under strict control. This includes incident reporting, CCTV filing, inductions, training, reference checks, licensing approval, general conditions of employment, allocation sheets, staff ratings, reviews and all disciplinary measures. This area will be monitored closely at all times
  • Responsibility for all security requirements. This includes overseeing rosters, allocations, uniforms, hiring, training, time keeping and customer profile. All door licensing must be actively followed through.
  • To liaise with the Managing Director & Group Operations Manager regarding all assaults/accidents and potential claims. It is the sole duty of the manager to ensure that accurate records are kept in this area
  • To appoint a fire officer to fill out and check all aspects of fire safety with direction from the Group Operations Manager
  • To ensure that the security system is always in good working order

Marketing:

  • To ensure continued marketing of the Nightclub in conjunction with the Group Marketing Manager. Ensure that all events are prepared and promoted effectively
  • A calendar of events to be prepared and presented to the Group Management Team 6 weeks prior to all events taking place
  • Regular focus groups and surveys to be conducted to ensure good knowledge of your customer base and its needs.
  • Make sure that all social media is utilised to expand the Brand. Using social media to inform all customers of events taking place
  • To ensure that all DJ’s are consistent and professional. They must adhere to the music policy laid down and command a high level of satisfaction from the crowd
  • Book all acts and DJ’s for the club
  • Develop and train a Promo team
