Career Vision Recruiters are currently looking for a People & Culture Manager in a busy property in Cork City. To manage the day-to-day running of the HR department overseeing all aspects of the personnel and training function resulting in high levels of staff satisfaction and compliance with company procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To ensure personnel files are compliant with all relevant paperwork on file and kept up to date.
  • To ensure that staffing levels are at an optimum level within the budgetary labour constraints set. This includes reviewing staff rosters and preparation of the annual budget
  • To control and monitor absenteeism, attendance, retention, and labour turnover statistics.
  • To compile a monthly HR report for Head Office on all personnel and training issues and share best practices.
  • To ensure that all company policies are adhered to.
  • To handle any employee relation issues efficiently and professionally within Company disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Purchase items in line with the departmental budget, following accounting requirements for authorisation
  • To ensure that Core HR/Personnel is kept up to date with starters, leavers and transfers.
  • Attendance at P & L’s and HOD’s
  • Complete the monthly GM Self-Assessment
  • Keep up to date with Health and Safety matters related to the team

Customer (External)

  • To foster an atmosphere of commitment throughout the hotel to the service and brand standards
  • To ensure all staff are well groomed and always presented to company standard
  • To ensure that customer care training is planned, delivered, and evaluated. To support the Business Excellence Champion in communicating guest feedback, ensuring action plans are in place to address rolling priorities
  • To manage staff uniforms, oversee stock levels and their upkeep
  • Communication and information flow to enhance and develop the leadership and guest experience.
  • To promote both the property and the Company by conducting local college visits and establishing links with local employment offices and in the community
  • Reporting to and coordinating with the talent team.

People (Internal)

  • To be involved in the recruitment for personnel at all levels ensuring fair recruitment practices and to maximise the retention of staff
  • To conduct hotel induction, Proud, Flow, compliance training and in house statutory training and ensure maintenance of appropriate records in conjunction with the L&D team
  • To be approachable and deal with staff queries in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Recruit for, train, develop and CPD the HR Assistant
  • To support managers to be able to carry out PDRs in a timely manner.
  • Monthly People Meetings
  • To support team trainers and oversee the production of the monthly hotel training calendar and ensure all learning and development is recorded and conduct checks in department
  • Where appropriate, to conduct exit interviews with all leavers and ensure their feedback is shared appropriately to make improvements for the future
  • Administer and ensure all long service and employee of the month awards are recognised
  • To proactively monitor employee performance, advising and coaching line managers as necessary to ensure appropriate actions are taken.
  • Performance driven culture supported through, advice, coaching and championing the leadership team
  • Championing all team members when necessary
  • Talent management and succession planning
  • To ensure regular staff initiatives are co-ordinated to create a positive workplace and fun environment e.g., social events, welcome to work. To include the Great Place to Work initiative with the Great Place to Work Committee.
