Career Vision Recruiters are currently seeking to recruit a Sous Chef for a well-established Hotel property in Co. Kildare. Reporting to the Head Chef, this candidate will ideally have experience with banqueting also.

 

Main areas of responsibility:

  • Leads kitchen team in Head Chef’s absence.
  • Provides guidance to junior kitchen staff members, including, but not limited to line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating.
  • Ensures a first-in, first-out food rotation system and verifies all food products are properly dated and organized for quality assurance.
  • Keeps cooking stations stocked, especially before and during prime operation hours.
  • Manages food and product ordering by keeping detailed records and minimizes waste, plus works with existing systems to improve waste reduction and manage budgetary concerns.
  • Works with Head Chef to maintain kitchen organization, staff ability, and training opportunities.
  • Assists Head Chef with menu creation and new dishes.
  • Ensuring and controlling levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating and food cost on an ongoing basis.
  • Monitor and ensuring that the production, preparation and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times.
  • Have a good knowledge of health & safety, hygiene, HACCP and any other legislation.
  • Able to handle pressure calmly and professionally.
  • Friendly outgoing personality along with excellent personal presentation.
  • Passionate about producing high quality food.
